Why Does My French Press Gets Cold Too Quickly?

A French press is a brewer, not a thermos. That one distinction explains almost every cold cup you pour.

Technique can only carry a glass press so far, though. The walls themselves set the ceiling, and that is a materials problem.

That final step fixes two problems with one pour. It stops the extraction, and it moves the coffee into a vessel that actually holds heat.

A preheated thermos or insulated coffee carafe handles the coffee you will not drink right away. The press did the brewing, and the insulated vessel does the holding.

With the routine tight, the last weakness left is the press’s own design. That design limit deserves an honest answer.
