Brew for the Cleanest Possible Cup
A clean cup comes from four habits working together: a rinsed paper filter, a moderate grind, a light stir, and a gentle press. Here is the baseline routine in order.
- Rinse a fresh paper filter with hot water and lay it flat and centered in the filter cap. Pre-wetting helps the paper stay centered, as AeroPress itself recommends.
- Screw the cap on firmly, checking that no paper edge got folded into the threads.
- Grind medium-fine, roughly the bite of table salt between your fingers.
